“Ugh.” Kazahaya shoved the trash down before wiping his hands fastidiously on his apron. He hated taking out the trash. Should just make Rikuo do it, he thought, giving the trashcan a kick. Stupid jerk.

“Kudo-kun, could you come here please!” Kakei-san’s voice rang from inside the shop and Kazahaya sighed, wiping his hands again before going back inside.

“What is it?” Kazahaya eyed Kakei-san suspiciously. He was smiling but that wasn’t anything new - Kazahaya was pretty sure Kakei-san could have that same expression while sending him and Rikuo to their deaths.

“Are you planning on sending anything to anyone?” Kakei-san asked.

Kazahaya frowned. “No,” he muttered. He hated White Day. Not because he disliked giving gifts but because he didn’t receive any gifts on Valentine’s Day so he didn’t really have anyone to give anything to for White Day. It was kind of embarrassing.

Kakei-san smiled. “I understand,” he said. “Maybe next year?”

“Don’t patronize me!” Kazahaya exclaimed, forgetting who he was talking about, before storming up to his room.

“You made him angry.” Rikuo appeared out from behind a doorway, arms crossed over his chest.

“It’s very easy,” Kakei-san said, folding his hands over each other. “I wasn’t even trying.” He smiled at Rikuo. “Perhaps you can go change his mood?”

Kazahaya sat on his bed, hugging a pillow to his chest as he glared at the wall. He didn’t really know why he was so annoyed - it was probably a good thing he didn’t have some clingy girlfriend. And really, he didn’t what one. But still…

But still nothing. You’re not acting like you want a girl, you’re acting like you are a girl. Kazahaya sighed before pushing the pillow away. He glanced at his doorway before frowning, immediately on his guard.

“What do you want?” he said, glaring at Rikuo.

Rikuo stepped inside uninvited and stared down at him. “Are you pouting, kitty cat?” he asked, a small smile growing on his face. “Sad you didn’t get any presents.”

Kazahaya jumped to his feet. “What the hell is your problem?!” He shook his head. “I didn’t do anything to you today so why don’t you just leave me alone, huh?!” Rikuo didn’t reply except to hold out a small box. It was wrapped in pale blue paper and a small, dark blue bow sat on top.

“What…what’s that?” Kazahaya asked before hissing. “Are you bragging-”

“It’s for you, idiot. I got you a present for White Day,” Rikuo said blandly, as if he were reporting the weather. As Kazahaya stared at him, dumbfounded, Rikuo sighed and tossed the box. Catching it out of reflex, Kazahaya inspected it before glancing at Rikuo.

“Are you…this is a joke, right?” he asked.

Rikuo chuckled. “Open it and find out,” he said. Kazahaya glared at him suspiciously before looking down at the present. Taking a deep breath, he carefully untied the bow, letting it flutter to the floor. Pulling off the lid, he pulled out a small, pale blue teddy bear.

“Happy White Day.” Rikuo was suddenly much closer, the words whispered into Kazahaya’s ear.

“T-thanks,” Kazahaya replied automatically, eyes wide as he looked up at Rikuo. He blinked before coming back to himself. Though he was still blushing, his eyes hardened and he glared. “Kind of a cheap present, though.”

Laughing, Rikuo backed away. “You didn’t get me anything for Valentine’s Day,” he said. “I didn’t owe you anything.”

“Why are you putting me in the girl’s position?!” Kazahaya asked, outraged.

“It’s pretty obvious,” Rikuo said as he disappeared through the bedroom doorway.

“What?!” Kazahaya yelled, following him out the door. A few moments passed before he came back and picked up the bear, placing it on his bedside table before running back out, fully intent on making Rikuo pay.
